We’ve all done it…
We go out to try the “hottest” driver, just to end up having it be a huge disappointment.
Is the new Taylor Made R11 one of those drivers?
Sometimes it can be difficult to wade through Taylormade’s sales message, but if you do, you’ll find a pretty sweet driver on the other side.
With this Taylormade R11 review I want to focus on explaining the unique features on the driver, and what they ACTUALLY mean to your golf game.
For a quick introduction to what you can do with the club head, watch the trailer below. It was produced by Taylormade and it includes the opinion of a few PGA Tour players that endorse TM. Regardless of their opinion, you’ll get an idea of what the club can do in less than 90 seconds. Have a watch, then read on.
The fact that players have the ability to make adjustments to the club head is pretty cool, but distracting at the same time.
On one hand, you have a ton of different setups to choose from, one of them is sure to fit your swing.
On the other hand, you have a ton of different setups to choose from, a lot of them will just be a distraction to what really matters to your improvement.
Of course, I don’t think we can fault Taylormade for putting out a driver that is pushing the limits with innovative features either. Its up to us as players to stay focused and improve intelligently.
TaylorMade R11 Club Head Adjustments Explained
Heel/Toe Weight Adjustments – These can be changed in and out with different weighted screws. This will effect the curve of your ball from right to left or left to right.
Flight Control Technology – The neck of the club can be adjusted to effect the height of your ball flight, and the curve as well. You can go two ways with this. You can change the loft of the driver, and you can open or close the club face.
Adjustment Sole Plate – There are 3 different settings. This can be used to offset the ugly look of the close or open face you created with the Flight Control adjustment.
In total, there are 48 different ways you can setup the R11 driver. Even though most of the adjustments won’t apply to your game and your swing, you’re sure to find one that fits you perfectly.
The white club head has a lot of people talking and personally I think it is brilliant. Having a club that is pleasing to the eye is important and the white finish is certainly fresh. There are no other clubs like it on the market. When you see a PGA Tour player teeing it up, you’ll know exactly what driver they have in their hand.
I would recommend the Taylormade R11 Driver to anyone looking for a fresh look in 2011. Its my goal to provide high quality information for players to help them intelligently improve their golf game.
